Favorite Chocolate Cake
·2 cups of granulated sugar
·2 cups of all-purpose flour
·1 cup of cocoa powder
·2 teaspoons of baking powder
·2 teaspoons of baking soda
·1 ¼ teaspoons of salt
·3 large eggs
·1 cup of whole milk
·¼ cup of melted butter or margarine
·2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
·1 cup of water
·Preheat your oven to 350 F.
·In a mixing bowl, sift all of your dry ingredients together.
·In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, melted butter or margarine, and vanilla.
·Slowly add the liquid mix ingredients to the dry mix while mixing on low. Once the ingredients are combined, scrape down the sides and bottom of the mixing bowl and mix on medium-high speed for 60 seconds. Add the water and mix on low until combined.
·Prepare two 8” cake pans by spraying them with pan spray and dusting them with flour.
·Divide the batter evenly between the two pans and bake for 30-40 minutes (until a toothpick is inserted and is removed cleanly.) Alternatively, scoop the batter into prepared cupcake liners and bake for 20-30 minutes.
·Cool the cakes in the pans and invert onto a cooling rack to finish.
